The origin of Japanese food
Kaiseki cuisine is a traditional multi-course dinner that can be found in high quality restaurants, famous hotels, and hot spring areas. Kaiseki is a collection of highly skilled cuisine techniques that involves meticulously preparing and presenting the food.
Originally found in Japanese tea ceremony, it was very simple but now it’s become a full-course meal.
Basic Kaiseki is served sequentially with sashimi arriving first, baked foods next, and a soup medley last. Other types of courses can be added including deep-fried food, steamed food and fruit.
The types of food severed are dependent on the season and Kaiseki restaurants are now providing the option of western style tables and chairs.
