You can view Osaka all at once from “Mt. Kongo Ropeway”, the symbol of Chihaya Akasaka Village.

Since it’s opening in April 1966, the 1,323-meter-long Mt. Kongo Ropeway has enhanced convenience for climbers and served as a familiar symbol of Chihaya Akasaka Village. After passing by the first post, the ropeway commands a view of the top of Mt. Kongo. Below the ropeway, a carpet of trees change their appearance at each season. The trees covered with frost in winter are exceptionally beautiful. Around the second post, passengers overlook Osaka Bay and the Kansai International Airport on the left and even Awaji Island when the weather permits. Ascending still further, climbers walking on the road seem as small as rice grains. Passengers can find their own way to enjoy the scenery. A 10-minute walk up from Mt. Kongo Station takes you to Konanso, a lodge, and Chihaya Nature and Astronomy Museum. After climbing further for around 30 minutes, you can arrive at the summit of Mt. Kongo.
