1.Meet at Kichijoji station at 10AM

Start your day by walking around the area. Instead of going into every store I find interesting, I make a mental note to come back and explore after lunch.

the convenience store

This area is perfect for walking around, especially on a nice sunny day! The atmosphere is very calm and even the convenience store has a more upscale atmosphere compared to other areas. After wondering about for a bit, it is already 11:30 and it’s time for lunch!

2.11:30 Lunchtime

To power-up for the rest of the day, we decided to have some pasta (carbs)!
This place was quite delicious and there’s definitely a great atmosphere at night which is perfect for special occasions.

3.1PM Go to the Park

After we filled our tummies, we decided to go for another walk! This time, we wanted to go somewhere more relaxing and headed towards Inokashira Park. On our way there, we discovered a delicious-looking donut shop!

We all know there’s a separate stomach for desserts :P. We decided it’d be a perfect snack and got some donuts and café lattes to go.

Walking around under the sun felt amazing! If you come at the right time in spring, you’d be surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms. There is also a small zoo in the park if you’re interested! For today, we decided to take it easy and soak-up the sun while we enjoyed our donuts and latte on a nearby bench.

4.4PM Shopping

Head back to the shopping district and explore the stores that caught your attention earlier.

Cute cat merchandises!
Tokotoko Zakaten is a very cute shop designed like it came out of a fairytale and specializes in variety goods with cat designs. Please keep in mind taking photos inside the store is prohibited.

Takoyaki with seaweed!

After exploring a number of boutiques in the area, we got a little hungry and decided to grab a bite! This takoyaki stand had a bench area right in front so it was a convenient place to stop for a quick rest. Unlike other takoyaki places which usually sprinkle the spices on top, this place mixed the seaweed into the batter so the takoyaki looks green!

As we spent a lot of time walking around and exploring, we got hungry not long after we ate the takoyaki…

Here’s to a productive day! Cheers!

We found a restaurant called “Koki’s house” and it’s only 390 yen for each item on the menu! What a deal! Not only is it cheap, the portion size was also very reasonable. The food and drinks was the cherry on top of our 1 day adventure in Kichijoji.
