The documentary TV program ‘TOKYO Stories’ will be introducing the neighborhood of Arakicho, focusing on it as a place where you can feel the atmosphere of the Showa era (1926-1989). The documentary, in two parts, will be titled ‘Yotsuya, Arakicho DEEP’ and will be aired on BS Fuji TV on October 8th and October 15th.
The Tadaima Japan Shinjuku Ryokan will be featured in the documentary, following a Korean guest at the ryokan: the interactions between the ryokan staff and her, the tea ceremony lesson in English provided by the ryokan manager Yuya, and the guided visit of the backstreets of Arakicho and Suga shrine (famous for featuring in the animation movie ‘Your Name’).
If you are in Japan, please watch the show and see how the charms of Arakicho can bring people together!
